The first edition of the USI-SUPSI Winter School in Network Data Science and Artificial Intelligence was successfully held.

The event involved 51 participants in an advanced training programme on the latest statistical, computational, and machine learning methodologies for analysing dynamic, relational, and spatiotemporal data.

The Winter School took place at the East Campus in Lugano from 9 to 13 February and was organised by the USI–SUPSI Doctoral School in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The event represents an important joint effort to provide up-to-date skills and practical tools applicable to both research and industry settings.

Keynote speakers were: Veronica Vinciotti, Viviana Amati, Cornelius Fritz, Joris Mulder, Alessandro Lomi, Cassio de Campos, Marcello Restelli, Jürgen Lerner, and Abdul Fatir Ansari.

Tutorials were led by: Martina Boschi, Melania Lembo, Daniele Zambon and Manas Mejari.

The sessions balanced both theoretical and applied insights, encouraging interaction with instructors and speakers. In addition, the PhD Presentations session provided an important opportunity for exchange among doctoral candidates of the USI-SUPSI School, fostering discussion and the sharing of ideas on their respective research projects.

The success of this first edition confirms the value of the initiative and strengthens the shared commitment of USI and SUPSI to promoting education, research, and innovation.
