9 March 2026

On Monday, 23 March, from 12:35 to 1:30 pm, at room C2.09 of the USI Startup Centre (East Campus, level 2, sector C), an expert from the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property will present the fundamentals of IP and why protecting it is essential for turning ideas into opportunities. The event is open to the entire USI community, and complimentary pizza will be provided for lunch to all registered participants.

The rapid growth of technology and digital content is increasing the complexity and the importance of intellectual property rights (IPR). Intellectual property protection at an early stage is essential for turning ideas into opportunities. Too often, students, researchers, and startups miss out on this crucial step by delaying or overlooking it.
This compact workshop will help you understand how to protect your projects or ideas when they come to projects, with practical examples and real cases.
