The Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) has announced today the winners of the 10th edition of its “Watt d’Or” awards. The award in the renewable energies section went to Designergy, a young start-up company created with the support of CP Start-up USI SUPSI. The SFOE declared that Designergy entry is “a world first that impresses not only for the ease and speed of installation, but also for the appealing design and the cost effectiveness”.

Designergy was founded by Daniel Lepori, a graduate student of ETH and USI. Its innovative solution combines solar panels into roof tops, with single prefabricated units that guarantee, at the same time, heat insulation, waterproofness and photovoltaic power generation.
