Prof. Davide Ravasi from Cass Business School is going to address how identity is co-constructed over time showing evidence from a longitudinal study of non-profit organizations. As DOOC wants to reach out beyond disciplinary boundaries, he will also focus on the methodological challenges of tracing developments in time.
Prof. Davide Ravasi is interested in the interrelations between organizational identity, culture, and strategy in times of change, and how discursive and material artifacts influence sensemaking in organizations. In his research he also addresses practices of design and design management, and how organizations manage to endow its products with symbolic value and cultural meanings through design. Finally, his experience as associate editor/member of the editorial board of journals as the Journal of Management Studies, the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, promises an interesting discussion on how we can publish process sensitive phenomena in top tier journals.
