Kick-off seminar of the doctoral programme in Argumentation in Professional Practice

The doctoral programme in Applied Linguistics "Argumentation in professional practice" will begin on September 15th, 2017, in Winterthur, on the ZHAW - Zurich University of Applied Sciences St.-Georgen-Platz campus (Theaterstrasse 15c, Mäander C, Room SM 04.01). Besides an introduction to the scope and goals of the programme, the first seminar will focus on the basics of argumentation theory.

It is open for auditors, free of charge upon regis­tration via mail to Marta Zampa ([email protected]). Regis­tration is mandatory and closes on September 10th, 2017.

The Doctoral Programme in Applied Linguistic "Argumentation in Professional Practice" is financed by swissuniversities, and offers interdisciplinary educational and research activities focused on argumentation in professional practice, especially in professions related to communication and language (such as journalism, advertising, corporate and institutional communication, translation and interpreting). The programme is organised in cooperation with the Department of Applied Linguistic of ZHAW (Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, ZHAW) and relies on a national and international network of experts in argumentation and applied linguistic.
