196 new graduates in Economics at USI

On Monday, November 27, 2017, the USI Faculty of Economics conferred 196 diplomas to Bachelor, Master, and Master of Advanced Studies students of 22 different nationalities during a ceremony held at the Lugano campus Aula magna. Students with the best overall average grade at the Bachelor and Master and with the best results in the quantitative subjects, were awarded with, respectively, the ABT Prize and the EFG Pietro Balestra Prize.

The ceremony was opened by USI Pro-Rector Prof. Daniela Mondini, followed the Faculty Dean Prof. Patrick Gagliardini. After the awarding of the Bachelor diplomas, two USI alumni addressed the audience and shared their post-graduation work experience: Glenda Braendli, who graduated in 2003 and who today is a Partner at PwC in Lugano; and Giorgio Ratti, who graduated in 2011 and who today is Senior Search Engine Marketing Analyst at InnovationRPM in Pfäffikon, Switzerland. The ceremony continued with the awarding of two prizes: Alberto Stival, Deputy Director at the Centro Studi Bancari, conferred the Prize of the Associazione Bancaria Ticinese to the students with the best overall average grade at the Bachelor (Ludovica Marcotti) and at the Master (Felix Schoenenberger); USI lecturer Roberto Ferretti, representing EFG Bank, conferred the EFG Pietro Balestra Prize to the student with the best average grade in the quantitative subjects (Ludovica Marcotti). The final addresses were given by the Head of USI Alumni Service, Silvia Invrea, and by the Director of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) Prof. François Degeorge who spoke about the SFI accreditation for the Master in Finance programmes, which this year was awarded to 13 USI graduates. The ceremony was closed with the awarding of the Master and Master of Advanced Studies diplomas.
