USI students from the course of French for special purposes, held by professor Regina Bollhalder Mayer, have been part of the jury of the Choix Goncourt de la Suisse since its establishment in 2015. For the fourth edition of the prize, a publication has been printed with interviews and pictures illustrating this beautiful literary adventure that has involved so far around 100 students from different Swiss universities. Publication available in the attachment.

The prize Choix Goncourt de la Suisse is promoted by the French Embassy in Berne with the aim of contributing to promote French language literature and to enable a critical and unbiased reading of contemporary works. The Swiss prize is related to the famous French literary prize awarded by Académie Goncourt, the “société littéraire" (literary society) as intended by the writer Edmond de Goncourt, one of the leading figures – together with his brother Jules – of the French cultural scene during the second half of the nineteenth century, and friend of authors such as Émile Zola, Gustave Flaubert, and Guy de Maupassant.

The fourth Choix Goncourt de la Suisse kicks off today: our students together with fellow students from the universities of Neuchâtel, Fribourg, Bern, Zurich and Basel, will read and judge the 15 finalists, the same taking part in the main Prize, selected by the Académie Goncourt.
