Lugano City Scholarships

The City of Lugano and some private foundations offer financial assistance to residents to support expenses for higher education, both in Switzerland and abroad.

Students aged 25 or younger who are residents of Lugano can apply for a scholarship (borsa di studio) using the application form available on the Online Desk, which can also be obtained at the Puntocittà in Lugano and Pregassona or at the Cancelleria comunale at Palazzo Civico.

Applicants for municipal scholarships must be residents of Lugano or, if a foreign national, must have held a B permit for at least 5 years.

Applications for the scholarships listed below for the 2026–2027 school year may be submitted from 1 February to 31 March 2027.
