The Research Data Manager organizes training sessions and workshops dedicated to the various aspects concerning Research Data Management (RDM), such as:
- DMP writing and adherence to funders’ requirements;
- application of FAIR principles in data management;
- finding the appropriate long-term data repository;
- documentation and metadata writing;
- protection of personal and sensitive data;
- institutional storage of data and data sharing;
- Data Transfer Agreements (DTAs) and Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs);
- everyday duties in data management

Future RDM training sessions at USI
SNSF Data Management Plan drafting session
May 11th 2026, Università della Svizzera italiana (online)
As a grantee of an SNSF project, PIs are required to submit a Data Management Plan (DMP) in order to access the first installment of project funding, and expected to submit a final version of the document by the end of the project.
During this online training session, dedicated to its preparation, a detailed overview of the DMP submission process and its key components will be provided, and practical examples will be presented. There will also be time for Q&A.

Advanced Skills for Research Data Management and Open Sciences in Social Sciences

Content: many funding agencies, such as the Swiss National Science Foundation and the European Research Council, require a Data Management Plan (DMP) that outlines the entire lifecycle and the management of the data produced in funded research projects. This training session is an occasion to discuss about the rationale and the content of the DMP as conceptualized by the Swiss National Science Foundation
