The USI’s main multi-purpose spaces on the West Campus Lugano - Aula magna and Auditorium - can be hired by third parties for conferences and congresses. Specifications, contact points and rates are given below.

Aula Magna - West Campus Lugano
The West Campus Aula Magna, two thirds of which is built underground, seats 250 people in the central area, with maximum capacity of 450 seats including the two side wings. It is accessible to people with disabilities.
The room has Wi-Fi Internet access.
Main technical equipment:
- technical set-up permitting – among other things – control of projections, lights and sound, and audio and video recording of events;
- projector (Panasonic PT-DZ870EK, DLP, 16:10, native resolution 1920 x 1200, 8500 ANSI Lumen);
- screen for projections (16:9 format);
- platform with microphone-equipped head table and microphones for other speakers;
- head table with fixed computer (Windows operating system and Office suite) and DVD player, set up also for connection with a laptop;
- five microphones on the central desk (including two on the podium);
- two cordless hand-held microphones;
- two cordless neck microphones;
- overhead projector.

Auditorium - West Campus Lugano
The West Campus Auditorium is on the third level of the main building.It is in the form of an amphitheatre and can seat 230 people. It is accessible to people with disabilities.
The room has Wi-Fi Internet access. Each seat has a 220-V socket and a cable network connection.

- technical set-up permitting – among other things – control of projections, lights and sound, and audio and video recording of events;
- pop-up maxi-screen for projections;
- projector (Panasonic PT-DZ870EK, DLP, 8500 ANSI lumen, 16:10 format, native resolution 1920 x 1200);
- set-up for connection of one laptop + audio;
- platform with microphone-equipped head table (three microphones on the central desk + two on the lecterns);
- head table with fixed computer (Windows operating system and Office suite);
- two wireless microphones;
- two neck microphones;
- overhead projector.
