The Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching goes to Prof. Laurent Frésard

Laurent Frésard, Professor of Finance at the USI Faculty of Economics, was awarded the Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching "for the quality of teaching" during the twenty-third Dies academicus of USI, which took place on May 4 in Lugano.

In addition to being Full Professor of Finance at the USI Faculty of Economics, Laurent Frésard holds a Senior Research Chair of the Swiss Finance Institute. He obtained his Ph.D at the Université de Neuchâtel in 2009 and was Assistant professor at HEC Paris, as well as Assistant professor and then Tenure track Assistant professor at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. His research interests focus on corporate finance and in particular on the interactions between companies, financial markets and the economic system. His most recent studies investigate the effects of stock prices on the behaviour of companies and the role of the financial sector in the distribution of talent within the economic system. He is the author of several articles published in major scientific journals such as Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies. He teaches corporate finance at the graduate (Master’s) level and empirical corporate finance at Ph.D level.
