Today, Times Higher Education has highlighted another USI achievement by revealing the best small universities across the globe. As per the 'Young University Rankings' (in which USI ranked 54th in the world), the results published today come from THE WUR, global rankings released in September 2019. USI ranks 20th among universities with less than 5,000 students and is the third new entrant.
To be eligible for the ranking, universities must appear in THE's World University Rankings 2020, teach more than four subjects, and have fewer than 5,000 students. Filtered according to this methodology, universities keep their relative position.
Why does Times Higher Education also publish rankings dedicated to small universities? While many prospective students will crave large campuses and the anonymity of a bustling student body, others will be attracted to the experience that a smaller institution can offer: small classes to ensure a better student-teacher interaction, campuses that offer a good quality of life in an environment in which the small size is not an obstacle to the exchange of ideas and the development of one's potential.
