Graduation ceremony: 141 diplomas in Architecture

The graduation ceremony of the Academy of Architecture of Università della Svizzera italiana was held on Saturday, 19 September in the Park of Villa Argentina in Mendrisio.
The event, reserved for a limited number of participants due to the health situation, was broadcast live on the website of the Academy of Architecture and its social channels (see video below). The ceremony opened with the welcome address by USI Rector, Prof. Boas Erez followed by the Mayor of Mendrisio, Samuele Cavadini, the Mayor of Chiasso, Bruno Arrigoni, the Director of the Academy of Architecture, arch. Riccardo Blumer and the architect Muck Petzet, Director of Diploma 2020.
The graduates, of 25 nationalities, were awarded 141 Master of Science in Architecture diplomas and 1 PhD.
The Diploma 2020 'Chiasso Ponte Chiasso. Integration' directed by architect Muck Petzet, has produced design proposals for the nearby border area, analysing the urban, social and economic situation. On this occasion, the showcase of the Diploma projects at Palazzo Canavée was presented to the public. The exhibition will be open to the public until Friday, 16 October 2020 (Mon-Fri 10 am -6 pm.
