Research Challenges in a Globalised World - Conference and Panel Discussion

The fourth evening dedicated to the series on the Lights and Shadows of Globalisation, promoted by the Plinio Verda Club, will be held on Thursday 16 September 2021. The conference "Ricerca a tutto campo - Le sfide della ricerca nel mondo globalizzato" on research challanges in a globalised world, will feature as speakers Tatiana Crivelli and Arianna Calcinotto, two researchers with a high scientific and cultural profile.

Tatiana Crivelli, in the humanist-literary field: she was the first woman to direct the Romanisches Seminar at the University of Zurich and the first woman from Ticino to be appointed full professor of Italian Literature in Switzerland. In addition to literary research, the promotion of the Italian language and culture and gender studies are also important themes for her.

Arianna Calcinotto, in the medical-scientific field: she heads the newborn laboratory of cancer immunotherapy at IOR, the Institute of Oncology Research affiliated to USI. She leads an important multinational research group and the Stiftung Experimentelle Biomedizin has awarded her the Peter Hans Hofschneider Professorship 2020/2021 for her recent discoveries in the field of immuno-oncology.

 

The event will be held at 7:00 pm in room A11 of the Red Building at USI (Via Buffi 13).

According to Covid regulations, a mask must be worn to attend the evening.
