131 new graduates at the USI Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society

On Wednesday 24 November 2021, in the Aula Magna of the Lugano Campus West Lugano, the graduation ceremony of the USI Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society of USI awarded a total of 131 diplomas to Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students of 15 different nationalities, as well as prizes to the graduates with the best final average grade.  

The ceremony was opened by the Rector of USI, Boas Erez, followed by the introductory notes delivered by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Luca M. Visconti, the Vice-deans Professors Katharina Lobinger and Sara Greco, and the PhD coordinator Prof. Matthew Hibberd. The first diplomas proclaimed and awarded were the PhDs (6). Before the proclamation of the Master's degrees, Silvia Invrea, head of the USI Alumni Service, took the stage to deliver her speech and introduce a few Master's students who shared with the graduates their professional experiences.

Afterwards, the 71 graduates received their Master's diplomas as well as a few awards: the Alma Bacciarini Award for the best Master's degree in Lingua, letteratura e civiltà italiana to Costanza Lucchini (final average grade: 9.88); the ABB Award for the best Master's degree in Communication Sciences to Stella Chissotti, a graduate of the Master's programme in Marketing and Transformative Economy (final average grade: 9.76); and for the first time, the ACSI Prize, awarded to Katharina Dölp (Master in Marketing and Transformative Economy), for the her dissertation on "Food and Gender", in recognition of the high scientific standards of the work and its relevance for consumers in improving understanding of how gender barriers affect their food expectations

The ceremony continued with the testimonial given by one Bachelor's student, followed by the proclamation of 54 Bachelor's degrees and the assignement of two awards: the Alma Bacciarini Award for the best Bachelor's degree in Lingua, letteratura e civiltà italiana to Martina Tamburrini (final average grade: 9.43); and the ABB Award for the best Bachelor's degree to Malina Andreea Palamariu (final average grade: 9. 39).

Closing remarks were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Visconti.
