The Università della Svizzera italiana and the  Permanent  Mission of Switzerland at the United Nations organisations in Rome are organizing an event at the Swiss Pavilion of Expo Dubai 2020 to rethink the future of food systems, with particular focus on the Middle East Mediterranean region. Inspired by the "Bites of Transfoodmation" Manifesto and the methodology and values of the MEM Summer Summit, the event aims to promote a unifying vision of food that promotes more sustainable and inclusive future societies.

Access to healthy and nutritious food is a right, not a privilege. However, food systems are becoming increasingly complex and food security and water scarcity are two of the biggest challenges in the MEM region. How can we rethink our eating habits, change narratives, and use food as a powerful tool for cohesion and inclusiveness?

The event, which will take place on 21 February 2022 from 15.30 to 17.00 CET, can be followed online: www.swisspavilion.org/re-thinking-food-systems/. It is to participate to the event in-person upon registration at the above link.
