27 May 2024
Alessia Anicito, alumna from the Master in Digital Fashion Communication, has been awarded the first Prize from Ticino Moda on the best Master thesis written last year.
Alessia’s thesis, titled Creativity Templates and Fashion Upcycling, has been researched under the guidance of Prof. Michael Gibbert. Her work explored innovative strategies to enhance sustainability in the fashion industry. By applying specific creativity models, the research identified methods to reduce waste and encourage clothing reuse.
The Master in Digital Fashion Communication was launched in 2018 as a Double Degree by USI – Università della Svizzera italiana and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris, France), and has attracted since then 160 talents from more than thirty different countries.
According to prof. Lorenzo Cantoni, director of the Master at USI, “this Prize is a very positive initiative, which recognizes the achievements of the students of the Master in Digital Fashion Communication and the relevance of their studies also for the local sector”. Dr. Nadzeya Sabatini, academic coordinator of the programme, furthermore highlights “the importance of such a Prize to support young researchers studying fashion related topics in Canton Ticino”.
