Videoconferenza

USI Law Institute (IDUSI) and SUPSI CCTG, in collaboration with the Canton Ticino Bar Association (OATI), are offering a webinar aimed at presenting the changes in Swiss civil procedure law, which will come into force on 1 January 2025.

During the first session, the key points of the revision of the Civil Procedure Code (CPC), which aims to provide better access to justice and, thus, consolidate the application of private law, will be addressed. The main innovations, which will be covered during the meeting, will include the lifting of financial barriers, the strengthening of the conciliation procedure, and the simplification of the coordination of procedures.

Some aspects of specific codification of the Federal Supreme Court case law, aimed at promoting legal certainty and security, will also be discussed individually. The second part of the webinar will look at prospects in the area of strengthening collective judicial protection in cases of mass or widespread damages. In contrast to the rest of the revision that will come into effect on 1 January 2025, this collective jurisdictional protection aroused multiple controversies during the consultation and was decided to deal with it separately.
