Eligibility
- Candidates must have been awarded their PhD (as of their diploma date) no earlier than November 1, 2021, except for Israeli candidates.
- Parental, medical leave, or career interruptions are considered for eligibility.
- PhD candidates can apply if their dissertation defense is successfully completed by June 1, 2025, with official documentation required.
- All nationalities can apply, except Israelis, but those acquiring Israeli citizenship or residency after September 1, 2024, are eligible.
- Candidates who began a postdoctoral or academic position in Israel before September 1, 2024, are not eligible.
- Candidates must secure an academic sponsor and conduct postdoctoral research at one of the following Israeli institutions: Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University, Reichman University, Technion, Tel Aviv University, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Haifa, or Weizmann Institute of Science.
Funding and duration
- The fellowship provides an annual stipend of ILS 168,000, divided into monthly payments of ILS 14,000.
- An additional ILS 20,000 per year is granted for research expenses and travel.
- Fellows accompanied by a companion to Israel will receive an extra ILS 20,000 per year.
- The stipend is paid by the host academic institution in Israeli Shekels (ILS)
Timeline of the call
- November 18, 2024: Application deadline.
- December 2024 to February 2025: Preselection screening and academic committee reviews.
- February–March 2025: Panel interviews (via video).
- March 2025: Award notifications.
