Equi-Lab reopens the doors of its entrepreneurship training workshop to encourage and empower female entrepreneurial talent in Ticino. On Tuesday, 11 March, twenty more would-be female entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to challenge themselves in developing their talents and turning ideas into action during a ten-step programme that will end on Tuesday 20 May.

The third edition of Imprenditrici si diventa! gets underway with the support of BancaStato and with the collaboration of Università della Svizzera italiana, which will once again provide classrooms for the in-person lessons (2 will be held online).

Training, empowerment, networking

The training workshop, curated by Ajlin Dizdarevic, an expert with over 20 years of experience, offers an interactive and creative approach with a focus on exploration, reflection and empowerment. In addition to entrepreneurial, strategic and practical know-how, the project aims to encourage in the participants the confidence needed to face the many challenges to be found throughout their entrepreneurial journey. In addition, some important issues that characterise female professional experiences such as work-life balance, gender gaps and stereotypes will also be explored.

To round off the training course, the cantonal entrepreneurship support ecosystem will be examined. Participants will have the opportunity to establish contact with the network of local business services, and can then decide who to turn to in order to further develop their project. This element was particularly appreciated by the participants of previous editions, many of whom were able to successfully present their projects to local incubators.

Equi-Lab, the competence centre for work-life balance and the promotion of gender equality

Created as an extension of the 20 years' experience of the consultants (Giuridico Donna &Lavoro, Sportello Donna and Antenna Sociale) and of COOPAR (specialising in gender equality), Equi-Lab aims to act as an equal opportunities project in a network with institutions and businesses. Since 2019, it has been working within the framework of the cantonal mandate for the implementation of family-friendly corporate policy measures introduced by the 2018 tax-social reform and is a partner of the cantonal platforms Vita-Lavoro and Familiari Curanti. As an eduQua-certified body, Equi-Lab provides training in all areas covered by corporate and individual counselling and, more generally, across the entire equal opportunities spectrum. Since 2019, the association has organised more than 70 courses, more than half of which were delivered upon the specific mandate of public and private organisations in the area.
