The objective of MSCA Doctoral Networks is to implement doctoral programmes by partnerships of organisations from different sectors across Europe and beyond to train highly skilled doctoral candidates, stimulate their creativity, enhance their innovation capacities and boost their employability in the long-term.

The MSCA DN grants have a duration of 48 months and cover PhD scholarships (max. 36 months/each) at the institutions involved in the consortium.

Within MSCA projects, universities can play the role of recruiting institution of doctoral candidates and awarding institution of the PhD title, receiving funding, or they can simply host secondment research periods of the doctoral candidates, without a direct contribution.

Project proposals are evaluated based on excellence, impact, quality, effectiveness of the implementation.
