Over 600 students from the six USI faculties took part in the tenth Long Night of Careers, which took place on Tuesday, 15 April 2025, at the Lugano's East Campus. The event, organised by the USI Careers Service, brought together 59 national and international companies and institutions, offering young talents a unique opportunity to find their way in the world of work.

Over 295 professionals from various fields shared their roles and career paths, offering students advice on entering the workforce and writing effective CVs through one-on-one meetings, presentations, and workshops. Among these professionals, 67 were alumni of USI—former students who returned to the university to guide and support current students, as well as to recruit new talent from our institution.

Also, this year, 120 students volunteered as "Student Angels" to accompany and assist the Long Night's corporate guests and start their professional network.

To celebrate ten years of the Long Night of Careers at USI, the 13 companies that have consistently participated were honoured during the ceremony in recognition of their fundamental shared commitment to supporting the careers of USI students:

  • Accenture
  • Federal Administration
  • Swiss National Bank
  • Bloomberg
  • City of Lugano
  • Cornèr Bank
  • Deloitte
  • EY
  • LAC Lugano
  • PwC
  • RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera
  • UBS
  • VF International

Also, thanks to the other companies collaborating with the Careers Service and contributing for years to USI students' successful careers and very high employment rates.

Below are some testimonials from the participating companies:

Google - Edoardo Trullo, Product Support Manager, USI Alumnus (Management, 2021)
"It was such a special evening connecting with bright and enthusiastic students, answering their insightful questions, and sharing tips for their future career journeys.
Fun fact: Google has participated in this event twice, in 2015 and 2018. Guess who was at the 2018 edition?
It was me, sitting in the first row to attend the workshop hosted by Google, and I already had the dream of one day joining this amazing company! Fast forward seven years, and I had the absolute privilege to be on the other side, representing Google in Lugano. Such a full-circle moment!"

IBSA - Irene Belatti, Communication Specialist
"We introduced IBSA Group to many interested students and addressed their questions and curiosities about the pharmaceutical industry, the general working world, and our specific roles within it. It was an enjoyable event that inspired me to become more involved and reflect on my own experiences. It also reinforced the importance of engaging with new generations of professionals through mutual exchange and continuous improvement."

Credinvest Bank - Giulia Crippa, Marketing & Corporate Communication, USI Alumna (ESIR, 2022)
"Being there yesterday at the Careers Night was, once again, a valuable moment—an opportunity to meet students, lecturers, companies and professionals. To listen, to orientate, to tell about our world. As an independent bank with an international approach, we have always believed in the value of training and relationships. Our team got involved in CV counselling, workshops, discussions, and networking because talent must be welcomed, accompanied and enhanced.
A round of applause goes to USI Università della Svizzera italiana, which every year chooses to open up to dialogue with the world of work, offering real meeting spaces between education, business, and the region.
This is the way to build concrete possibilities, capable of responding to the new needs of young talents."

VF International - Gabriele Silva, Talent Acquisition Director EMEA
"As VF Corporation, we joined the Long Night of Careers at USI Università della Svizzera italiana - and... we loved it! Great energy and conversations! It was fantastic to meet curious students and share insights into our culture, career paths, and opportunities at VF with our internship programme.
We participated in workshops, offered CV counselling, and had the opportunity to connect with students and graduates at our stand.Alongside this, we are honoured to have been recognised with a USI award for our commitment to the new generations and talent entering the world of work."

Bloomberg - Alan Gadoni, Manager Quality Assurance
"We had the honour of participating in the Long Night of Careers 2025 at USI Università della Svizzera italiana. My colleagues from Bloomberg Lugano and London and I had the opportunity to meet 24 talented and highly motivated students from the faculties of Informatics, Economics and Communication who wanted to review their CVs with us. The evening was crowned with the delivery to our company of the "Loyalty Award" for ten years of collaboration in the Lugano and Italian-speaking part of Switzerland."
