The House of Sustainability launches its autumn programme with the theatre festival "Ora tocca a noi"

4 September 2025
The House of Sustainability and L'ideatorio of the Università della Svizzera italiana invite you to the theatre. The "Ora tocca a noi!" festival begins on Tuesday, 23 September, featuring three theatre performances in Biasca, Bellinzona, and Acquarossa. These performances aim to encourage laughter, reflection, and action in a changing world that calls for new perspectives and ways of being.
Three events will take place between September 2025 and January 2026 in the Sopraceneri area, made possible through a collaboration with Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona, Teatro Tan in Biasca, and Cinema Teatro Blenio in Acquarossa. Actors, musicians, and scientists will invite the audience to engage with an urgent question: How much can we still influence the future of our planet and our communities through our choices? This is an invitation to imagine new scenarios and to actively contribute to creating a fairer world that leaves no one behind and is balanced with the planet's resources.
The festival will start on Tuesday, 23 September at Teatro Tan in Biasca, with two performances of the show "The Game" by the Ticino-based company Trickster-p, a participatory and intergenerational project which, through play, does not merely support existing social and cultural positions, but opens up a space of possibilities in which to disrupt and change them, showing how playing means (also) questioning one's own visions and perspectives.
On 25 October, the capital of Ticino will host the second event of the festival at Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona. The show "Allegro bestiale. Un viaggio ai confini della biodiversità" (Allegro bestiale. A journey to the limits of biodiversity) by and with Banda Osiris and the evolutionary philosopher Telmo Pievani will be staged. This production blends science with a light-hearted approach, encouraging us to reflect on the connections between humans and all other living beings. It serves as a reminder that defending biodiversity is also an issue of justice for future generations. If we fail to act, we may leave them a world that is poorer, more unstable, and more challenging to inhabit.
The last event is scheduled for the new year, on 22 January 2026, at the Cinema Teatro Blenio in Acquarossa. The production "Cabaret Artico. Giochiamoci il clima" (Arctic Cabaret. Let's gamble on the climate) employs theatre to portray the climate crisis with realism, while also offering hope. A show by the Pop Economix CH Association in collaboration with SCT Centre in Turin and Dispari Teatro. Starting from scientific data, it recounts the possibilities for a fair and sustainable future, countering eco-anxiety and resignation and pushing for action. An innovative proposal that will see a dozen actors, musicians and 24 boxes on stage, guiding the audience on an interactive journey through challenges and solutions.
