5 November 2025
The first resources developed as part of the EASE - Educational Academic Staff Empowerment project are now available on the eLab YouTube channel, featuring three short videos that offer practical guidance to USI lecturers on promoting active learning and student participation.
The EASE project, carried out in collaboration with the University of Bern and funded by swissuniversities through the Open Education & Digital Competencies programme, aims to promote the professional development of university lecturers, supporting them in designing effective and engaging teaching programmes, also thanks to the integration of digital media and tools.
The main objectives include the creation of training courses in various formats (online and in-person) and the production of digital teaching content, such as learning nuggets and self-learning units.
The first three learning nuggets, available on YouTube – eLab USI, address key topics in university teaching concisely and practically:
- Six Misconceptions about Digital Education – the most common prejudices that hinder the full potential of digital education.
- From Passive Reading to Active Learning – six strategies for transforming independent study into active learning.
- Activating Students in Class – four simple principles for engaging students in the classroom, helping them to stimulate critical thinking and gain greater confidence in their learning.
In the coming weeks, a short online self-learning course will also be published, again dedicated to the theme of student engagement and activation, aimed at USI teaching staff.
