SATW - Germaine de Staël Support Programme 2026

Deadline

• 12 May 2026 – Submission deadline for project dossiers

Eligibility

• Open to all research disciplines, including social sciences and humanities.

• Participation is open to all Swiss public or private research institutions (universities, research institutes, universities of applied sciences, teacher education institutions, etc.).

• Companies may participate if they are associated with an academic partner organisation.

• Applications may be submitted in French or English.

• Both research partners must submit their application to the respective national programme managers (SATW in Switzerland and Campus France in France).

• Projects that have already received support under this programme cannot be submitted again immediately after completion.

Funding and Duration

• Maximum funding for the Swiss team: CHF 4,500 per project per year, renewable once.

• The programme covers travel and accommodation costs for short research stays (up to 1 month).

• The programme supports multi-year projects, typically structured over two years with reporting and reimbursement milestones.

Timeline of the Call

Call phase

• 4 March 2026 – Call opens

• 12 May 2026 – Deadline for submission of project dossiers

• End of November 2026 – Publication of results on the SATW website

Year 1

• 26 September – Mid-term report submission and first reimbursement application

• December – Second reimbursement application

Year 2

• 15 September – Third reimbursement application

• December – Fourth reimbursement application

Final Year

• 28 February – Final report submission
