On Monday, 20 April, from 8:30 am to 5 pm, the event "Building Empathetic Communities – Empathy as a Driver of Social Change" will be held in Aula polivalente (Sector A) at the USI-SUPSI East Campus. The day is dedicated to the role of empathy in fostering more conscious and inclusive social relations.

The event will provide a space for reflection and debate on how empathy can contribute to positive social change, strengthening mutual understanding and dialogue within communities. Through thematic presentations, discussion sessions, and workshops, the event aims to explore the psychological, relational, and social dimensions of empathy.

The sessions will begin with registration and a welcome for participants at 8:30 am, followed by institutional greetings and an introduction to the day's proceedings. The morning session will include the presentations "When the Other is Not There" and "The Neural Basis of Empathy and its Implications for Social Behaviour," followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

In the afternoon, the event will continue with a series of workshops for a practical look at the themes discussed, followed by a closing session on future challenges and perspectives.

Coffee breaks will be provided by AdoMani – Fondazione Amilcare. Further information regarding the programme and registration can be found on the event poster. To attend, please register via the online form.
