UCLouvain - FSR Incoming Post-doc Fellowships 2027

The FSR Incoming Post-doc Fellowships programme supports international postdoctoral researchers wishing to conduct research at UCLouvain. Its objective is to strengthen the university’s international research environment by attracting excellent researchers from abroad, fostering transnational mobility, and promoting long-term scientific collaborations. The programme follows a bottom-up approach and is open to all scientific disciplines.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a PhD awarded no later than 1 May 2027 and have no more than five years of postdoctoral experience (with eligibility extensions for childbirth and adoption). They must satisfy the international mobility requirement by not having resided or carried out their main activity in Belgium for more than 24 months during the three years preceding the project start date. Applicants must be supported by a UCLouvain supervisor, and researchers of all nationalities and from all research disciplines are eligible.

Funding and duration
The 2027 call will fund 15 fellowships. Fellowships may last between 12 and 36 months and include a tax-free monthly allowance based on the fellow’s experience, social security contributions (according to eligibility), personal liability insurance, a €2,500 annual bench fee (with the possibility of requesting additional justified funding), and an annual travel allowance based on the researcher’s country of origin. Projects must start within 12 months of the call deadline.
