Innosuisse - Flagship Initiativem Joint Innosuisse-armasuisse Call 2026

The Flagship Initiative supports large-scale, transdisciplinary innovation projects that address major societal and economic challenges through systemic innovation. The 2026 joint call by Innosuisse and armasuisse focuses on Resilient and Secure Technologies for Defence and Mobility, promoting dual-use technologies with applications in both the civilian and defence sectors.

27 October 2026 at 12:00 noon CET. 

Eligibility 

Applications must be submitted by consortia comprising at least three eligible research partners, including at least one Swiss University of Applied Sciences, and at least two implementation partners. A Higher Education Institution or an eligible non-commercial research institution must act as the host institution. Projects must adopt a dual-use approach, demonstrating relevance for both civilian and defence applications, and involve strong transdisciplinary collaboration across research and implementation partners.

Funding and duration

Funding covers personnel costs, including overhead and employer contributions, material costs, and eligible coordination costs. Innosuisse funds 40–60% of the eligible direct project costs, while implementation partners contribute the remaining 40–60%, including a minimum financial contribution of 5% of the total project costs. There is no fixed project duration, although Flagship projects are expected to last longer than standard Innosuisse innovation projects due to their systemic and transdisciplinary nature.
