The graduation ceremony of the USI Faculty of Communication Sciences was held on Monday, November 6, 2017, in the Lugano campus Aula magna. 155 graduates of 21 different nationalities received their Bachelor (67), Master (75) and Ph.D. (13) degrees. In addition, four prizes were awarded to the best graduates in the different disciplines. 

The ceremony was opened by USI Rector, Boas Erez, followed by the speeches of the Dean of USI Faculty of Communication Sciences, Prof. Andrea Rocci, the coordinator of the Ph.D programmes, Prof. Suzanne Suggs, and by the Head of the USI Alumni Service, Silvia Invrea. The ceremony included also a speech given by USI graduate in Communication Sciences (4-year degree curriculum), Tommaso Cancellara, who is currently the general manager at Assocalzaturifici Milano. Musical interludes were offered by flautist Annika Rast, performing the “Bourrée anglaise” by J.S. Bach and, together with violinist Jean-Philip Dolci, the Duet in three parts for flute and violin by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. 

At the ceremony, a few important prizes were also awarded: the ABB prize, which is awarded to the student with the best average grade in the Bachelor's degree program and to the student with the best average grade in the Master's program; and the Alma Bacciarini prize, which is awarded to, respectively, the best graduate in the Bachelor and Master program in Italian Language, Literature and Civilisation.

 

The names of the prize winners are:       

  • ABB prize for the best Bachelor: Deborah Barcella (average grade: 9,31)
  • ABB prize for the best Master: Alice Badalucco, Master in Marketing (average grade: 9,49)
  • Alma Bacciarini prize (Bachelor): Rita Colombo (average grade: 9,86)
  • Alma Bacciarini prize (Master): Laura Crippa (average grade: 9,80)
