School is out and classes are over. The closed classroom doors and empty halls lead to think that our academic activities might slowdown in the summer. However, life at USI never takes a break.

In addition to the normal activities of administrative management, planning and research, the summer months offer in fact the important opportunity to delve into topics and discuss themes thanks to summer schools, organised to promote dialogue and interaction within a field of study, forging international and interdisciplinary links. This summer USI has promoted more than 15 seminars, which will take place from June to September both on Lugano and Mendrisio campuses, and in the offices of partner institutions in Switzerland and abroad.

The range of topics varies from philosophical reflections on time and the impact of Aristotle in the Mediterranean, to supercomputing and data computer analysis, from the Sino-European dialogue, to the cinematographic genre of documentary, from social sciences methodology, to public health, as well as architectural archaeology and communication technologies at the service of sustainable tourism.
