From October 3 to the 12, the Faculty of Theology in Lugano will host “Europa: una Svizzera in grande? Le visioni politiche di Adenauer, De Gasperi e Schuman”. Is Europe a larger version of Switzerland? With this question in mind, the exhibition will portray the political visions of those who inspired the European Union, curated by Fondazione De Gasperi, and Fondazione Konrad Adenauer Italia in collaboration with Maison de Robert Schuman, and organised by the Rosmini Chair of the Faculty of Theology in Lugano, directed by Prof. Markus Krienke.

The three figures who inspired the European Union will be presented for the first time in Switzerland in an exhibition that intends to journey through their lives and political visions: guided by the value of individuals, solidarity, and subsidiarity through international collaborations.

The opening will be held on Tuesday, October 2 at 6.30pm in the Lugano campus Aula Magna, with speeches by, among many, Alcide De Gasperi’s daughter Maria Romana De Gasperi, Mons. Valerio Lazzeri Bishop of Lugano, Marco Borradori, Mayor of Lugano and Mauro Massoni, Consul General of Italy in Lugano, Prof. René Roux, Rector of the Faculty of Theology in Lugano, and Prof. Boas Erez, Rector of USI.

The exhibit will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 8.30am to 6.30pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm. Guided tours and documentaries are available. For more information: [email protected]
