The exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is on display as of today at the Parco Ciani in Lugano.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, in Paris. 70 years later, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights underlined this important anniversary with a global campaign and a series of poster panels on the subject, designed by internationally renowned artists who illustrate the call STAND UP FOR HUMAN RIGHTS – Defend Human Rights.

Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and the City of Lugano, in consideration of the acute relevance of these topics, have decided to host this exhibition first on the Lugano campus of USI (from September to December 2018) and then in the city center, along the outer fence of the Parco Ciani (until early April 2019). The exhibition provides a precious opportunity for consideration and discussion among students and citizens, bringing thus the University and City closer together.

After Lugano, the exhibition will be on display in other locations in the Canton Ticino, to foster the discussion around the respect for human rights and to raise awareness among the general public.
