Professional organisations - PIRM
Professional organisations already active or interested in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda to contribute to economic, social and ecological development can submit a research proposal for a thesis via PIRM – Thesis. The thesis is a concrete academic research project, not a consultancy project, and is carried out by USI students enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's programmes or doctoral thesis chapters.
Research proposals may be addressed within the scope of one of the following USI faculties: Academy of Architecture, Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Informatics, finding a point of contact, in terms of topics, approaches and/or methods, with one of them.
As regards timing, the number of months of work required varies according to the level of study: approximately three months for Bachelor's theses and theoretical work for Master's degrees in Architecture, approximately six months for Master's degrees in other faculties, while for Doctorates the timing is defined on a case-by-case basis. During the thesis, each student works under the supervision of a USI supervisor and, where applicable, in coordination with the external partner organisation, if available to meet with the student.
