Develop an e-commerce site with Wordpress
Wordpress is the most widely used system for developing web sites, blogs or e-commerce. Its power lies in the fact that it is open source and can be expanded through thousands of plugins. Even though Wordpress is not an efficient solution for large enterprises, it can be considered to be an optimal solution for startups that do not have the means for developing a complicated web site just to test out ideas. Because Wordpress is a complete CMS (content management system), one can develop an entire professional web presence without any programming knowledge.
This course requires a laptop with a web browser installed.

I have been using Wordpress since early days to create web pages and e-commerce sites. As a freelancer, I often propose Wordpress as a solution to my clients because of its cost efficiency. I have also used Wordpress for my thesis on User Experience Design, for which I created an incrementally functioning prototype to digitalize a butcher’s shop, opening it to the world of e-commerce and allowing it to sell meat online. Wordpress was also the solution proposed to CP Startup during my Filed Project.
I believe that in the digital age it is viable to have the visibility of an e-commerce site. Wordpress can smoothen the digitalization process of small enterprises by providing an easy-to use solution that requires no coding.

Registration
Online registration is open until 13 June for all USI students enrolled during the academic year 2020-21.
A CHF 15.00 nominal fee is requested to gain access to all courses and activities offered (please refer to the courses and activities descriptions for any requirements for registration and detailed information). In addition, registered students will receive a welcome package.
Places available for courses and activities are limited to guarantee the quality of the offer. They are organised in full compliance with the Federal, Cantonal, and USI COVID-19 provisions. Some courses and activities may be cancelled should a minimum number of participants not be reached. Thank you for your understanding. The programme lineup will be gradually defined due to the ever-evolving health situation.
Registration for courses and activities will be confirmed to the students by the courses or activities' coordinators/teachers/services in charge, which will be available for any reallocations or changes.
