After the success of the concert held at LAC on 28 February, the cooperation between USI and Orchestra della Svizzera italiana carries on. OSI will give out 60 free tickets to USI students (first come first serve basis at [email protected]) for the Ludwig van Festival (https://www.osi.swiss/it/concerti/concerti).

During the event dedicated to Beethoven OSI, directed by its first director Markus Poschner, will perform the odd-numbered symphonies of the great German composer: the First and the Third on Friday, 7 June, the Fifth and the Seventh on Saturday, 8 June, both at 8:30 pm in Sala Teatro LAC. The grand finale will be an open-air concert of the Ninth Symphony featuring a choir of more than 200 elements from the region. It will be held on Sunday, 9 June at 9 pm at LAC main square (free event). A modern approach that will converse with Mauricio Kagel's revolutionary vision and with an intriguing exploration of the role of Beethoven's music in contemporary media, curated by composer Andrea Molino, through a multimedia installation in the foyer of the LAC. Irreverent and impromptu fragments of Kagel’s movie ludwig van will accompany Beethoven great symphonies. The majestic organisation involves numerous institutions of the Swiss Italian-speaking region.

Each student can ask for a maximum of two tickets per evening. Please note that USI professors can benefit from the Amici dell’OSI rates.
