As a valued member of our community, USI Alumni are eligible for scholarships and special fee reductions towards several of USI’s highly specialised Continuing Education Programmes (Certificates, Diplomas and Masters of Advanced Study, CAS, DAS and MAS). Our programmes are designed by academics and experts in the field to meet the needs of experienced professionals in an increasingly competitive society.

 

2019 Continuing Education programmes:

Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Lean Six Sigma and Process Management

Calendar: 25 - 31 August 2019
Registration Deadline: 24/08/2019

The Humanitarian Operations Team at USI offers this and other CAS and DAS modular programmes throughout the year. This CAS focuses on Lean Six Sigma, a performance improving method that systematically removes process defects and waste and has been widely used across many industries to streamline processes and improve productivity. The programme also includes courses on humanitarian action and process management.

Upon successful completion of this intensive one-week programme, students earn a Swiss CAS and the official Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

There are still 6 seats available in USI’s upcoming CAS taking place in Lugano from August 25 until August 31. USI alumni are eligible for a 20% discount on the tuition.

 

Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Risk Management in Banking and Asset Management

Calendar: September 2019 - December 2019
Registration Deadline: 19/08/2019

Organized jointly by Villa Negroni Study Center and the Finance Institute at USI, the Risk Management in Banking and Asset Management CAS takes place in Lugano from September through December 2019. This programme provides formal training and certification in risk management skills integrated with the strategic aims of the banking and asset management sector.

Upon successful completion of this programme, students earn a Swiss CAS, recognized by the Swiss financial community.
USI alumni are eligible for a 10% discount on the tuition.

 

Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Relationship and Communication Management in Finance & Banking

Calendar: October 2019 - May 2020
Registration Deadline: 30/08/2019

Organized jointly by the Villa Negroni Study Center and USI, this CAS takes place in Lugano from October 2019 through May 2020. This CAS is designed to respond to the need for effective communication skills to foster productive relationships in the financial and banking sector.

Upon successful completion of this programme, students earn a Swiss CAS, recognized by the Swiss financial community.
USI alumni are eligible for a 15% discount on the tuition.

 

Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA)

Calendar: October 2019 - December 2020
Registration Deadline: 20/09/2019

The USI EMBA is a modular Master of Advanced Studies degree in Business Administration, taught in English, by international faculty at the Università della Svizzera italiana. Classes are held in Lugano every month, for fourteen months. The programme has eleven core courses, an intercultural module abroad in Dubai, three advanced courses and ends with a three month project. The next course starts in October 2019.
USI Alumni are eligible for a scholarship.

 

Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Humanitarian Supply Chain and Project Management

Calendar: 13 - 19 October 2019
Registration Deadline: 18/10/2019

Gain a solid understanding of the key elements of a supply chain with courses on procurement and transportation management, as well as project management principles.

Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) on Migration and Diversity

Calendar: 4 – 9 November 2019
Registration Deadline: 15/09/2019

This CAS, in collaboration with the Swiss Forum for Migration and Populations Studies (SFM) and the Université de Neuchâtel, is designed for professionals seeking career advancement in public institutions that serve or employ migrants or address migration issues such as federal or local institutions, non-governmental organizations, or corporate organizations with diverse migrant workforce.
USI alumni are eligible for a 10% discount on the tuition.

 

Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Intercultural Communication

Calendar: November 2019 – June 2021
Registration Deadline: 15/09/2019

The most comprehensive program in intercultural communication for professionals working with diversity at all levels. Distributed across 18 modules in 3 countries, the MAS comprises 8 weeks of study and 1 online module, plus a Thesis/Field Project.

Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in Intercultural Communication

Calendar: November 2019 – June 2021
Registration Deadline: 2 months before the start of classes

The academic excellence of a MAS with the flexibility to choose the most relevant modules for your professional development. Distributed across 12 modules in 3 countries, the DAS comprises 5 weeks of study and 1 online module.

Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Strategic and Scenario Planning for Humanitarians

Calendar: 1 - 7 December 2019

Build capacity in managing stakeholders, intended outcomes, assessing and adjusting an organisation’s direction in response to a changing environment.

Organized jointly by the Centro di Studi Bancari and the Finance Institute at USI, the CAS in Private Banking and Wealth Management takes place in Lugano from May through December each year. The programme is designed by academics and professionals and responds to the need to certify financial advisory skills. The programme is therefore mainly addressed to all private banking consultants and wealth managers working in banks, management companies and family offices.
