In order to help current students and recent graduates to find their way in the working world, many of our alumni shared their career story. Here the story of Fulvio Dal Castello, Senior Consultant - Strategy & Innovation in Capgemini Italia in Milan (I). USI Degree: Master in Economics and International Policies, 2016.

How did you start your career?

I started my journey thanks  to  an  internship  during  the  master's  inUnicredit at the CIB Compliance Markets division. I learned essentialnotions on financial markets and the specific investment and regulatoryfield. I also learned what it means to work for a world-class bank. Thanksto this experience, I have gained significant expertise, directing me to thedesired career path during my studies.

Why did you choose a career in Capgemini Italia?

I decided to undertake the consulting path as I realized the need to want to boost my professional and educational career, aiming to learn as much as possible in the financial services sector in a more dynamic context.

What is your current role/duties?

My role consists of carrying out projects in the Financial services area, mainly on projects in the investment services and asset & wealth management areas, helping our clients pursue strategic changes.

In your opinion, what are the qualities necessary for a successful career in Capgemini Italia?

As in the rest of the companies, dedication and commitment in one's work are essential to aspire to a career in my company. The career path is founded on the achievement of increasingly challenging goals, never stopping to learn, and putting oneself to the test. Indeed this approach and behavior based on fairness will reward the efforts giving way to pursue career advancements.

What positive aspects and qualities meant most to you during the study programme you attended?

The course of study at USI characterized a crucial stage of my academic and personal career, providing me with a high-quality level in preparation, which has become an excellent business card since my first entry into the working world. The young, multicultural and dynamic environment also contributed.

What competences and/or skills acquired in your USI Study Program have been useful/are useful to your professional career?

Many of the skills acquired during the Master proved to be strategic and relevant for the daily work application. Indeed, the economic and legal notions have proved successful and have transmitted some essential softskills in the working world, such as problem-solving and critical thinking in analyzing tricky situations.

What is your advice to USI students entering the job market?

Feel ready for all the opportunities that the job market can offer without ever neglecting your personal tastes. Furthermore, it is essential to have ambition to continue one's career and human growth path.
