In order to help current students and recent graduates to find their way in the working world, many of our alumni shared their career story. Here the story of Francesco Di Gregorio, Owner of Di Gregorio Associati Architetti in Parma (I). USI Degree: Master in Architecture, 2010.

How did you start your career?

Born in Parma, Francesco (1985) graduated at the Accademia di architettura di Mendrisio in Switzerland and studied at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Once obtained his degree in 2010 with speakers Mario Botta and Aurelio Galfetti, Francesco started his own pratice with architects Karin Matz in Sweden and then he became partner of the studio Di Gregorio Associati in Italy.

He has built project in Italy, Spain, Sweden, France, Germany, Brazil and participated to several exhibitions, among which “Giovani architetti grattano il cielo”, curated by Casabella Laboratorio and “Architects meet in Selinunte - Partire Tornare Restare”.

Francesco has been awarded with the “Iconic Architecture Award 2020” by the German Design Council. Producer of ZID films, a film production company based in Paris.

Francesco is president and founder of AMA - Accademia Mendrisio Alumni.

What positive aspects and qualities meant most to you during the study programme you attended?

The humanistic and multidisciplinarity approach to architecture.
