Do you want a fairer, more equal society for all and free from discrimination and violence? Take an active part in the initiatives organised by USI on the occasion of the national feminist strike on 14 June, proposing activities, reflections or participating in the initiatives on Campus from 9:30 am to 3 pm.

The University is a privileged space for exchanging ideas and educating new generations. We have a responsibility to highlight issues of justice, equality, women's rights, and the rights of all minority groups to drive change.

On 14 June 2024, a nationwide feminist strike is scheduled to take place. The strike aims to advocate for a society free of patriarchal violence, an economy that prioritises care work and social reproduction, a society without wars, and an eco-feminist society that acknowledges our (eco)interdependence with other living beings and strives to overcome all forms of racism.

On this occasion, the USI Truck, USI West Campus Lugano, will be dressed in purple and will be a privileged place to exchange ideas and reflections on issues related to justice, equality, the rights of women and all minority groups, discrimination and violence.

USI supports the initiatives taking place on campus and encourages those who wish to participate in the strike to reach the posts on the West Campus Lugano during the course of the day, making sure to manage their absence responsibly, even during working hours.

Professors, staff members, researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students, students and all interested parties are invited to participate in campus initiatives and join the rally in Bellinzona, starting at 6:30 pm in Piazza del Sole.
To promote the participation of the entire academic community, from this year, USI has introduced an exam-free day starting at 12 noon and supports the initiatives on Campus and those who wish to take part in the strike.
