How did you start your career?
My career at JP Morgan began almost by chance. After completing my studies, which included a Bachelor's in Communication and a Master's in Management with a semester at the University of St. Gallen, I developed a strong interest in finance. During this time, I delved deeper into financial topics and completed an internship at a renowned multi-family office in Lugano. This experience helped me realize that wealth management was a field that fascinated me, especially the processes behind private banking services.
Why did you choose a career at JP Morgan?
I have always wanted to be part of a large company with a strong corporate identity that attracts young minds in pursuit of excellence, and for this reason, I believed that JP Morgan could be the right place for me.
What is your current role/duties?
I am part of the Account Transition team, which is responsible for transferring client accounts from external banks to JP Morgan Suisse, and vice versa, as well as between different platforms within JP Morgan. We primarily handle asset classes such as equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, and cash in various currencies.
It is a young and dynamic team where managing the pressure from internal stakeholders, end clients, and time cut-offs in the major markets plays a crucial role in ensuring a successful transfer and excellent service.
In your opinion, what are the qualities necessary for a successful career at JP Morgan?
Among the most important skills are:
- strong communication with the team and various stakeholders,
- enthusiasm,
- attention to detail,
- constant desire to learn and stay open to new opportunities.
What positive aspects and qualities meant most to you during the study programme you attended?
Throughout my studies, I had the opportunity to explore economics from various perspectives, examining it through communicative, managerial, and financial lenses. This diverse approach provided me with a wellrounded, comprehensive understanding of the subject.
