In order to help current students and recent graduates to find their way in the working world, many of our alumni shared their career story. Here the story of Bianca Bellazzi, Corporate Banking Associate at BNP Paribas in Zurich (CH). USI Degrees: Master in Management, 2022 and Bachelor in Economics, 2019.
How did you start your career?
I began my professional journey in Hamburg (Germany) in the container shipping industry. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insights into global trade, logistics, and supply chain management and it provided a solid foundation in understanding complex operational processes, international commerce, and the economic factors influencing global markets.
After gaining substantial experience in container shipping, I decided to transition into the financial sector, seeking to leverage my analytical skills and broaden my understanding of the economic landscape. I joined a leading bank as an analyst in their corporate banking division. In this role, I was responsible for conducting detailed financial analysis, assessing credit risk, and supporting senior bankers in managing client relationships. My background in container shipping proved to be a significant asset, as it gave me a unique perspective on the transportation and logistics sectors, which are critical components of many corporate banking clients' operations.
My journey from container shipping to corporate banking has equipped me with a diverse skill set and a comprehensive understanding of both operational and financial aspects of businesses, allowing me to provide well-rounded advice and solutions to clients.
