On Friday, March 10, the renowned French political scientist, orientalist and academic Prof. Gilles Kepel gave an exclusive speech in the Lugano campus auditorium on “The chaos in the Middle East and the consequences for Europe”. The conference follows the USI tradition of highlighting events and developments occurring in the Mediterranean countries.
Prof. Kepel is head of the Moyen-Orient Méditerranée chair at the École normale supérieur and professor at Sciences Po, both in Paris. He has published several books and studies on Islam and on the emergence of jihad.
