After the appointment of Council President Monica Duca Widmer and of the two Pro-Rectors Daniela Mondini and Michele Lanza, USI took another important step to strengthen its government structure since the Administrative Director Cristina Largader took office in mid-July.

Cristina Largader was selected last April at the end of a public tender that saw the participation of some sixty candidates.

Albino Zgraggen, who until now served both roles of General Secretary and Administrative Director will keep the first position.

Cristina Largader (1966, Swiss citizen) holds a degree in Business Adminstration, obtained in 1992 at Bocconi University in Milan. From 2002 to 2017 she served as Head of Finance and Management Accounting for Cardiocentro Ticino, and in 2011, she was appointed Deputy Director. In her role at the Cardiocentro Ticino, Ms Largader implemented a series of new and more efficient processes in several units of the clinic, including the reorganisation of human resources management which contributed to making the Cardiocentro one of the best employers in Switzerland. Previously, Ms Largader was, among other roles, Head of Management Accounting at the Aziende Industriali (AIL) of the City of Lugano (1997-1999) and, from 1999 to 2002, Deputy Director of the Finance Department at the Public administration of the Canton Ticino.
