Public transport
Do you want to help reduce traffic, local pollution and the effects of global warming?
Leave the car at home and take public transport!
USI Arcobaleno travel pass
The Arcobaleno is a zone-based travel pass that allows free travel on all public transport in the areas of Ticino and Moesano covered by the purchased zones.
Thanks to USI's contribution, its employees can obtain a 2nd class annual Arcobaleno travel pass with a 40% discount. The discount applies exclusively on the home-work-home route.
By giving up the use of a car, you save on vehicle maintenance and parking costs, as well as reducing your environmental impact, with a significant reduction in energy consumption and harmful emissions. For more information, see the SBB CFF FFS Environmental balancing page.
New: from 1 May 2025, employees residing in Italy will have the possibility to apply for the Arcobaleno cross-border pass for the Italian section via the Arcobaleno company form. How does this work? When completing the order form for the Arcobaleno travel pass, simply specify the entire desired route, e.g. from Como Camerlata to Lugano. Please note: the 40% overall discount only applies to the cost of the annual Arcobaleno travel pass on the Swiss segment. For example, for a Como - Lugano annual travel pass, the route benefiting from the discount will be from Chiasso to Lugano.

Arcobaleno pass - Costs
The Arcobaleno travel pass prices can be calculated using the cantonal Calculator (Italian only). From the price displayed in the calculator, you will have to subtract 40% of the figure to obtain the final cost of your subscription. Subsequently, the HR Service will contact the employees to pay their fee, with the possibility of paying in instalments (up to 4).
The 40% reduction on the cost of the travel pass only applies to the home-work-home route in 2nd class. If additional zones or 1st class are desired, only the basic reduction of 15% offered by Comunità tariffale Arcobaleno applies on these additional routes and/or for class changes.
