  • iCorsi

    iCorsi is the USI eLearning platform, based on Moodle (version 4.3 - updated on January 21, 2025). iCorsi allows teachers and students to manage, share, and consult teaching materials, carry out interactive activities, and check assignments for plagiarism using Turnitin software.

    New: Starting in the 2024-2025 academic year, online exams will no longer be held in iCorsi, but on the dedicated platform: Exam.iCorsi.

     

    Interactivity and inclusion in iCorsi

    To promote active learning, iCorsi has advanced interactive plugins such as:

    • H5P - for creating quizzes and multimedia content
    • Board - for visual collaboration and brainstorming
    • Amanote - for taking notes directly on course material

    These plugins make the learning experience more dynamic, engaging, and personalized!

  • Microsoft Teams

    Microsoft Teams is the tool recommended by USI for live streaming your online lessons.

    MS Teams allows you to share your screen or presentation with students, interact with them during the lesson, temporarily divide them into different groups for group work or discussions, record the online lesson, etc.

    MS Teams is also used for online oral exams.
     

    To access MS Teams, you need to download the app from USI Cloud and use your USI CAMPUS credentials.

  • Turnitin

    Turnitin is software that allows you to check for plagiarism: in just a few clicks, Turnitin lets you know if a text or part of a text has been copied from the internet or from another text available online.
     

    Turnitin is available to all USI and SUPSI lecturers and assistants via the iCorsi platform.

  • Mindmeister

    Mindmeister allows you to create, manage and share online mindmaps by collaborating in real time with your students or colleagues.
     

    To obtain a Mindmeister Edu Campus licence, simply create an account on www.mindmeister.com using your @usi.ch or @supsi.ch e-mail address.

  • Wooclap

    Wooclap is an online platform that allows you to interact with your students or your audience through different types of events and activities (questionnaires, polls, closed or open-ended questions, etc.), thus keeping students active and participating during the lesson.

    All members of the USI community can access Wooclap via the web or through iCorsi or use it integrated in PowerPoint presentations.

  • Wooflash

    Wooflash is an intelligent microlearning platform designed based on neuroscience and adaptive learning to significantly optimize learning quality. With Wooflash, students can follow personalized study and revision paths tailored to their specific needs. This tool provides additional support for your students as they prepare for exams!

  • Panopto

    Panopto is software that allows you to record video lessons by combining the video of the teacher with a recording of their screen or PowerPoint presentation.

    Panopto can also be used to record your own lessons on campus, in classrooms where it is installed, and to save and share videos recorded with other software.
     

    Log in to Panopto using your USI CAMPUS account.

  • Prezi

    Prezi is a tool for creating presentations, videos and infographics.

    As a presentation tool, Prezi can be an interesting alternative to PowerPoint: by using a canvas in which you can zoom in and out on different elements, Prezi allows you to keep the overall picture of the presentation in focus.
     

    eLab has purchased some Edu licenses of Prezi; if you would like to have one, please ask Stefano Tardini.

  • Teaching.Tools

    Teaching Tools is a platform designed to support teachers in creating engaging lessons and diversifying their teaching activities.

    The platform offers three main features:

    • Plan a Lesson: an intuitive Lesson Builder that helps you formulate learning objectives and develop a lesson plan (from scratch or using templates).
    • Brainstorming with AI: a beta tool that uses artificial intelligence to generate concrete ideas for making lessons more interactive.
    • Find an Activity: a collection of teaching activities tailored to your class.

    Teaching.Tools also offers a collection of bibliographic suggestions related to teaching.
     

    You can access the site for free by creating a personal account.

  • MyPLE

    MyPLE is an open source online platform developed by the University of Fribourg in collaboration with USI, which provides over 110 digital tools, most of which are accessible free of charge. Each tool is accompanied by a detailed description of its features and possible uses.

    The aim of MyPLE is to support students, teachers, and staff in choosing and using the digital resources best suited to their needs. In addition, the platform offers online training activities dedicated to enhancing digital skills.

    The site is available in Italian, French, and German.

  • Microsoft Loop

    Microsoft Loop is an online collaboration platform developed by Microsoft, designed to facilitate teamwork through shareable and real-time synchronized components. This application allows users to create and manage content in a collaborative manner, offering greater flexibility and integration with other Microsoft tools.

     

    Key components of Microsoft Loop:

    • Workspaces: places where team members can organize and group information related to specific projects.
    • Pages: flexible surfaces within workspaces where you can insert and organize various types of content.
    • Components: modular elements that can be inserted into pages and shared across different Microsoft 365 applications, such as Teams, Outlook, and Word.
