Candidatures are open for the extraordinary elections of student representatives to the USI Academic Senate, the central body of the academic community that aims to strengthen the cohesion within the University.

Who can run for election?

As provided for in Art. 11 of the Academic Senate Regulations, the "student body elects one student per faculty, each with one substitute". Each student can run in tandem with another partner of the same Faculty, regardless of their course of study. Both candidates must determine who is the principal candidate and who is the running mate that will take his/her place when necessary.

What role do student representatives have?

The student representatives elected in the Senate are by right members of the governing body of the Student Corporation. Such a role represents an opportunity to enrich and further their learning and personal path and to participate in academic life in order to make a difference.

How do I submit my candidacy?

Applications must be submitted through the platform www.senato.usi.ch (accessible through your NetId) from Monday, 9 November (9 am) to Sunday, 15 November (11:59 pm).

When will elections be held?

Elections will be held from Monday, 16 November (12 noon) to Friday, 20 November (11:59 pm) - also through the platform. Results will be announced on Tuesday, 24 November.

The elected representatives will then be able to attend the Senate session on 3 December at 1:30 pm.
