The number of cyber attacks against universities is on the rise. To raise awareness during European CyberSecurity Month, the SWITCH foundation has partnered with the umbrella association GÉANT to create a video campaign demonstrating how easy it is to scam people online and attack entire organisations. Educating users about the risks and promoting safe online practices is one of the most effective ways to protect against cyber attacks.

The campaign, to debunk the collective imagination of the hacker in a hoodie, features the influencer Granny Smith. The four videos can be viewed on the SWITCH website and deal with topics such as data protection, password security and 2-factor authentication, phishing, ransomware and what to do in the event of a cyber incident.
