Fees and grants

Tuition fees for the Master's degrees amount to CHF 4,000 per semester. Applicants whose official residence was in Switzerland (including Liechtenstein and Campione d'Italia) at the time of the final high school exam (Maturità) pay a reduced semester fee of CHF 2,000.

Tuition fees are payable at the beginning of each term, by the deadline indicated on the invoice; fee payment is an essential condition for matriculating or renewing one's enrolment.

  • Grants
    For the academic year 2018/2019, the Foundation for the Lugano Faculties of the Università della Svizzera italiana will award a total of 60 one-off study grants of the amount of CHF 4'000 each. The merit-based grants are given to the students admitted to the first year of a USI Master programme starting in September 2018.

  • Leonardo Foundation
    Swiss and foreign students enrolled at the Università della Svizzera italiana can apply for a scholarship granted by the Leonardo Foundation. Applications (and renewals) are to be submitted using forms which can be downloaded here: (in Italian only) www4.ti.ch/decs/sa/uast/cosa-facciamo/fondazioni/.
     
  • Reginaldus Foundation
    Reginaldus Foundation awards scholarships to the students of the Master in Philosophy at USI that are undergoing difficult financial circumstances.

  • Student assistants
    Each year, five students of the Master in Philosophy at USI are selected to become student assistants and help the direction of the master to fulfill its various tasks. Salary is competitive. A call for application is circulated among enrolled students at the beginning of each academic year.
     
  • Scholarships of the Eccles Foundation
    The Sir John Eccles Foundation (http://www.ecclesfoundation.org) awards scholarships, of the amount of 3’000 CHF each, to students of the Master in Philosophy at USI who write a master thesis about one of the topics in the range of interests of the Foundation.
