The third Social Research Prize will be held on Friday, 2 December 2022, at the USI Auditorium. The Prize, promoted by the nonprofit association Ciao Table in collaboration with the Equal Opportunities Service of Università della Svizzera italiana, is an annual award for scientific research focusing on sociability and the drivers of social exchange.

The Prize will be awarded to the University of Amsterdam for international and innovative studies on understanding social actions and behaviour carried out by Valeria Gazzola, Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology.

From an original perspective, the Social Research Prize aims to emphasise not only the individual's career but also the academic community's importance in pursuing essential and innovative research. Therefore it is awarded to the researcher's home university.

The award, established in 2020 by the nonprofit Ciao Table, is presented to a different country each year. The first Prize was awarded to Università della Svizzera italiana for research carried out by Rosalba Morese, the Prize's godmother. Switzerland and, in particular, Ticino is the benchmark for this annual initiative, which is increasingly taking on an international scope.

The Social Research Prize 2022 is a valuable work by Piedmontese painter Angela Policastro.
