1st Alumni Reunion USIRefresh
There were over 350 USI graduates on 16 and 17 April 2010 taking part in the first official reunion of all alumni. The two days were filled with workshops, meetings and exhibitions culminating in a son et lumière celebration. All of this was conceived to launch a new objective for USI: to enhance relations between – and with – its own graduate students while promoting the creation of a network likely to be of use also in their professional sphere.
The reunion opened with a guided tour of the exhibition on Jean Prouvé, a great 20th-century designer, organised at Palazzo Canavée on the Mendrisio campus; this was followed by the celebration of USI’s Dies academicus, which this year welcomed federal councillor Didier Burkhalter. Subsequently, there was a rich variety of workshops and meetings with the deans of the four Faculties and long-standing professors; the event was crowned by a Gala Dinner, during which the founding committee of USI graduates was appointed..
